Nice to see you again! Do you remember my name? Of course you do. Say it out loud! Now.Tipper Gore was born on August 19, 1948 as Mary Elizabeth Aitcheson (a.k.a. "MAE" or "BessieMae"). She was nicknamed "Tipper", a name derived from a rural pastime involving cows, by her mother, Amanda Khulo. Tipper Gore grew up in Arlington, Virginia, in the home her family still owns, but that hardly seems relevant.
Tipper Gore attended exclusive St. Agnes and met Al Gore, Jr. at his high school graduation dance. Tipper and Al Gore were married on May 19, 1966 at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Tipper Gore found a way to avoid risky dating behaviors. So can you! Tipper Gore got married at age 17, and thus waited over four years beyond that legally required in Tennesee.
In 1970, Tipper Gore received a B.A. degree in Psychology from Boston University and in 1975, received a Master's Degree in Psychology from George Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. She became an avid photographer and worked parttime at the Nashville Tennessean until her husband was elected to Congress in 1976. So you can see that, even without every holding a real job, Tipper Gore is pretty well qualified for giving dating advice to girls and to guys!
